Barbican
making a claim

If you need to make a claim against your policy, we will do everything we can to help. To make sure things go smoothly, follow these simple guidelines.

Before notifying us or your broker of a claim, check your policy to make sure that the loss or damage is covered - including any conditions and exclusions that may apply. If you are unsure whether or not you have a valid claim, please ask your broker.

To pursue your claim, either contact your broker or if you prefer, call the Barbican Channel Island 24-hour helpline on 0844 856 2190. Please have your policy details to hand when you call.

If serious damage is involved, please call the helpline for immediate advice. We will not usually need a claim form and will be able to start directing things on your behalf once you have called us.

You may make urgent repairs immediately or take steps to prevent further damage - but please remember that you need to keep all receipts for any such work.

In the case of property that’s lost, stolen or vandalised you must report matters to the police immediately, before making your claim.

Do not dispose of damaged property until we have had the opportunity to inspect it.

If you receive a letter or claim for injury, damage or loss from a third party, you must pass it on to us unanswered. Never admit liability or agree to settle or make any offer of payment.
